Snarly sea

In the sea this morning at Newquay Bay. Si went for a surf at Towan I jogged up the beach (tide was out) to Great Western/ Tolcarne before entering the sea for swim back towards the harbour.
It was a snarly sea even when I got out behind waves, there was a lot of (wind) chop and I swallowed more water than I usually do or than I liked!

Si confirmed it was 'ages' before I came into sight of the surfers who were at Towan. Realised I had not been in for proper swim for 3 weeks and it was only towards end of swim that I felt I was swimming with any strength or purpose. Now resolved to get in pool at least 2 x week, starting on Wednesday morning before work.

Si said the sea was not that friendly for surfers either - dumping.

No sea swim/ surf next weekend as Si is away so I will go for my first long run of the Winter (may even wear my Boltons).

Surfers were dumping in the water?

Surely that is only Perranporth.

I am a little offended by this last comment, Penhale being my preferred break. I have never dumped in the water, possibly urinated a couple of times, but dumping no. Surfers are generally conscientious regards other water users. Swimmers however...
